After months of anticipation and training in preparation for the Great Manchester Run, the day finally came and Ionic did not disappoint.
We are very proud to announce that all 18 members of the Ionic team completed the 10k, in some cracking times too. With our top runner completing the course in 52 minutes!
We had a brilliant day in Manchester, warming up with thousands of other runners in Manchester City Centre before commencing the gruelling 6.3 mile run. With the spectators calling our names we felt like professional athletes and were very grateful for the jelly babies at the 8km mark that gave us an extra push across the finish line.
It was an amazing feeling of achievement to cross the line in Deansgate, knowing our training had paid off and we were able to raise money for St Rocco’s, with our current total standing at £1258.80. Some of us enjoyed it so much that there is already talk of signing up for the race again next year!
We would like to thank everybody who has donated so far, it wouldn’t have been possible without you. The money you’ve donated will make a huge difference to all of the patients at St. Rocco’s and their families.
- £30 will pay for a nurse’s uniform
- £200 could pay for multiple therapy sessions in our day centre
- £300 could pay for 20 sessions of bereavement counselling
- £600 will pay for 2 fully equipped medical bags for our Hospice @ Home nurses
If you too would like to donate you still can via our JustGiving page.
