  • This is an exciting opportunity for an Adaptations Surveyor to work with one of the UK’s largest housing providers, they offer more than 28000 homes, ranging from affordable social housing through to private rent across the North West of England

  • 4 Months temporary role, possible longer to start ASAP
  • Salary £40,000 per annum

The Role

  • Responsible for all aspects of the site management of minor and major adaptations within all 34 Local Authorities
  • Monitoring and inspecting construction work, record progress, carry out handover procedures, and ensure compliance with contract documents, construction regulations and best practice
  • Review pre-contract design documentation and undertake stock validation and option appraisal surveys
  • To work with Occupational Therapists to discuss and advise on feasibility of project
  • To liaise with all persons involved and provide technical advice to ensure the smooth service that is required
  • Participate in the review of pre-contract documentation, attend pre-contract meetings, and highlight future risks
  • Undertake regular site visits on projects YHG manage and deliver and the Local Authority are managing and delivering and attend site meetings to ensure statutory obligations/regulatory undertakings are met
  • Continuously monitor work on site in accordance with Contractors Method Statements and the Construction Health and Safety Plan
  • Maintain and issue regular site progress reports including contract variation instructions, quality and compliance inspections, handover progress and Health & Safety assessments
  • Prepare and attend snagging inspections and advise Adaptation Coordinators

What you need to succeed?

  • Ability to prepare and write progress reports
  • Ability to accurately read/interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Experience of analysing management information
  • Experience of supporting the delivery of major adaptations
  • Professional qualification in a property/building of related specialism MCIOB (Member Chartered Institute of Builders), MRICS, (Member Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) MICE (Member Institute of Civil Engineers) etc. or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification
  • Relevant technical qualification (or working towards) e.g. RICS or CIOB accredited HND or degree level
