The Company
  • A market leader in the construction and housing sector in the North West, are actively looking to recruit an experienced Construction Planner within the Manchester area due to an increase volume of work they have been awarded recently
  • Salary – Negotiable dependant on experience
The Role
  • Ensure that projects are programmed and delivered on time and within budget parameters
  • Co-ordinate materials schedule to achieve deliveries in accordance with the programme of works
  • Prepare contract and target programmes for developments, incorporating design and construction based upon timescales set by commercial and development teams
  • Liaise with contracts managers to finalise the target programmes and produce stage/section programmes as required
  • Monitor and update target programmes to mitigate against delays
  • Work with site teams to train and support them in preparing and maintaining short term programmes
  • Undertake regular site visits to review progress against programme and adjust as necessary
  • Work with commercial and finance teams to ensure that programmes provide sufficient details for forecasting
  • Report to senior management on development progress against current and initial planned programmes
  • Ensure site teams receive updated subcontractor programmes and that these are issued to subcontractors
  • Support commercial teams with the preparation of Extension of Time claims and demonstrate reasons for delays with appropriate back up
Qualifications and experience
  • Good knowledge of residential house building sequencing and programming
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external personnel
  • Able to influence and meet deadlines
  • Enthusiastic
  • Good eye for detail
  • Able to embrace training
  • Level 4 or above in Construction based qualification (Desirable)
  • CSCS (Desirable)
  • SMSTS (Desirable)
  • A Level or equivalent in an I.T based qualification (desirable)
  • Previous experience within site management or programming role
  • ASTA or equivalent programming software
