Key Information

  • As a Quantity Surveyor you have in depth knowledge of the building and refurbishment industry
  • Previous and current experience of using Conquest Software tool
  • You will have the skill to deal with the day to day QS management for Public and Private Sector clients in mainly commercial and residential built environment e.g. New Construction and Refurbishment Projects & Frameworks in Health, Education, Commercial Offices, Private & Social Housing Renewable Energy and Utilities
  • Salary is competative

The Role

  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
  • Undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work
  • Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
  • Performing risk and value management and cost control
  • Advising on procurement strategy
  • Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
  • Preparing and analysing costing’s for tenders
  • Providing advice on contractual claims
  • Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments
  • Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
  • Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations
  • Creating and executing project work plans and revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Minimizing company’s exposure and risk on project
  • Obtaining quotations from subcontractors and suppliers; negotiate best prices to ensure a winning strategy
  • Ensuring project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
  • Understanding company’s pricing model and billing procedures
  • Identifying business development and “add-on” sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project
  • Holding regular status meetings
  • Effectively communicating relevant project information to superiors
  • Delivering engaging, informative, well-organized presentations
  • Resolving and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
  • Complying with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures
