The Company

  • An established leading company in the passive fire protection market requires a Surveyor to inspect compartmentation works on varied commercial and residential projects within the North West region on a permanent basis
  • They are offering a competitive package and the potential to progress to a more senior position within the company’s operations team in the future

The Role

  • As a Fire Door Supervisor, you will have experience dealing with a wide range of people, from construction professionals to customers, so outstanding communication skills are essential
  • Working on a range of schemes from social housing properties to schools and health care projects
  • Monitor organise and direct operatives and subcontractors to ensure all agreed productivity levels are met
  • Build an excellent working relationship with the client and their designated partners
  • Writing reports on what improvements need to be made to ensure the Passive Fire Protection is compliant
  • Using software to log information to ensure a smooth process
  • Providing technical advice for the project delivery team
  • Identifying points for correction on fire door and compartmentation lines
  • Post work inspections
  • Assisting your operations manager

Qualifications and experience

  • Previous experience in surveying sites for passive fire protection
  • Joinery background would be advantageous
  • CSCS Card
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • FIRAS / FDIS / NVQ Qualification
  • BS 8214
  • Installation of timber door sets, door assemblies and composite doors
  • Fire door Maintenance
  • Knowledge of BM Trada, BS 8214 Codes of Practice and ASDMA Guidance
  • SSSTS or SMSTS desirable
  • IT Literate with good knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Ability to understand client / contract requirements to maximise productivity and measure and improvement
  • Excellent written and oral presentation
  • Good understanding of H&S legislation
