The Company

  • Our client, a well-established family owning building contractor is currently looking for a Passive Fire Surveyor to work with their team in Cumbria
  • In their 40+ years of trading, they offer a full range of services including new build, refurbishment and responsive works, as well as a separate fire protection, painting division and other specialist services

The Role

  • Rate of pay competitive, dependant on experience
  • Great experience working within the oassive fire role
  • Self-motivated, flexible, able to work away from home when required
  • Have a formal qualification in passive fire industry
  • An understanding of the British Standards & EN covering the areas of work
  • Produce reports and offer advice and recommendations to clients
  • Have a good understanding of Timber Fire Doors and similar furniture
  • Be able to identify that the frame specification is correct for the door’s rating
  • Be able to ensure that the choice of frame/lining/casing and intumescent smoke seals are compatible
  • Have good working knowledge of current Health & Safety and other relevant legislation

Qualifications and relevant experience

  • As a practiced Passive Surveyor, you will have experience dealing with a wide range of people – from construction professionals to customers, so outstanding communication skills are essential
  • The candidate should have excellent knowledge within Passive Fire Protection
  • BSc (Hons) Building Surveying
  • HNC/HND Construction
  • Fire Door Inspection Training
  • Fire Stopping and Compartmentation Training
  • Fire Safety for Construction
