Position: Trainee Design/Quality Engineer
Location: Warrington, Cheshire (WA1)
Salary: £27,000 – £29,000 per annum
Type: Permanent
Hours: 39 hours per week

• Monday–Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm

• Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm

We are seeking a Trainee Design/Quality Engineer to join a growing global team in Warrington. This is an excellent opportunity for someone technically minded to develop their career, with in-house and external training provided. You will assist in producing high-quality design, manufacturing drawings, material estimates, quality documentation, and site surveys for refractory solutions worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and development of refractory parts and furnace arrangement drawings

• Collaborate with the team to produce sketches and drawings for sales, manufacturing, installation, and fabrication

• Produce and amend drawings in accordance with customer specifications and technical documentation

• Evaluate drawings to identify and rectify problem areas

• Conduct changes to drawings where required

• Produce and calculate full Bills of Quantities for materials

• Input data into CNC polystyrene hot wire cutting machines for formworks manufacture

• Assist in project planning activities

• Produce quality and safety documentation for on-site activities

• Support any other areas of the business to maintain high-quality standards

Requirements / Skills:

• Technically minded with strong mathematical skills

• Motivated and able to use initiative

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Keen interest in developing a career in design and quality engineering
